New York City Council proposes casino zoning plan for city

A comprehensive zoning proposal released by the Adams administration may allow for the construction of casinos in large areas of New York City.

In contrast to the current zoning laws in the city, the proposed amendments would allow casinos to be established with very few size restrictions in almost all commercial areas and manufacturing districts. The proposal's reach goes beyond simply casinos; developers may include dining establishments, lodging options, entertainment venues, and bars inside the casino's premises.
