New York governor vetoed bill to expedite casino development

A bill to extend the deadline for bidding on casino licenses was vetoed by the governor of New York. Even if bidders had not yet received the required local zoning or other approvals, they would have still had to submit their proposals for review in August, according to the June legislation passed by lawmakers.

By the end of 2025, up to three downstate casino licenses should be approved by the state Gaming Commission.
