New York reports $539million betting revenue for the past week

One of the most watched sporting events in America is benefiting New York.

For the week ending March 24, the New York State Gaming Commission reported an online sports wagering handle of $539.6 million, which is the second-highest weekly handle in the history of the state. The record for the week ending January 22, 2022, is $572.6 million.

The state released the impressive findings from March Madness's opening week. According to the American Gaming Association, Americans are expected to bet roughly $2.7 billion on the men's and women's competitions during the three-week tournament, which began with several New York institutions.
