New York sets deadline for downstate casino operator selections

The state senator's bill, which establishes a stringent deadline for choosing three casino operators in downstate New York, has received support from the Assembly and Senate of New York.

Prior to the bill's passage, the senator proposed an amendment mandating that by December 31st, 2025, the New York Gaming Facility Location Board provide recommendations for the selection of downstate casinos.

March 31st, 2026 would be the last day to issue licenses.
