The government of New Zealand wants offshore casinos that operate there to pay their fair share of taxes. After the tax goes into effect, it is predicted that the government will get over $443 million a year in revenue.
A casino must pay 12% of its total earnings in tax. The money given to winners and the betting handle are not included in this. Only operators who have rendered services totaling more than $60,000 will be subject to taxation under the current gaming laws.
