New Zealand set to ban greyhound racing by 2026

According to a statement released by the country's racing minister, greyhound racing will be phased out in New Zealand in 2026.

This timeline will allow for the proper rehoming of racing dogs and give participants and industry professionals an opportunity to get ready for the business's closure. Greyhound racing will be outlawed in New Zealand by the third quarter of 2026 if it continues on its current 20-month trajectory.
