NFL team release player after reinstation following gambling scandal

Four days after the NFL put him back in the lineup after a gambling suspension, the Washington Commanders cut their defensive end on Monday.

When the player placed bets on games during the 2022 season, in April of last year, he was one of three players who received a ban that would last at least until 2023. A review by the league revealed no proof that any games were tampered with or that insider information was used.

Only one player, 26, who was still under contract, was restored to the team last week.
