Every year, the NFL (as well as coaches and staff) must abide by certain gambling regulations, which essentially mean that they can't be anywhere near the NFL or place bets while doing so.
However, the league also announced that each team will now have a "NFL Integrity Representative" in an attempt to ensure that the regulations are being adhered to. Referred to as a "typically retired FBI or executive level police officer," the representative will keep an eye out for any suspicious activity during games, collaborate with local law enforcement, serve as a resource for the team regarding gambling-related matters, and assist with any investigations regarding possible violations of integrity related to gambling or other matters.
