Nigeria's House of Representatives address misconceptions regarding bill to ban sports betting

During a plenary session last week in Abuja, the House of Representatives took direct aim at the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, which oversees the licensing and management of lotteries and gambling operations in Nigeria.

Before the weekend, there were rumors that a member of parliament had written a bill urging Nigerian ministers to outright forbid sports betting in the nation due to worries about mental health issues.
