Ninety-eight year sentence handed to criminal for robbing casino winners

A man in Virginia was given 98 years in prison last week for robbing two casino winners.

The defendant was given a protracted prison sentence on Friday in a Virginia court in Prince William County. On several counts, including attempted aggravated murder, aggravated malicious wounding, two counts of robbery, and four counts of using a firearm to commit a crime, he was found guilty in March.

The incident happened when several suspects pursued the winners to their Woodbridge home. One of the armed suspects shot the 33-year-old victim during the robbery while pushing the other victim to the ground.

Chasing individuals who have won at the casino to their residence and resorting to armed theft is a serious crime. This punishment acts as a firm warning about the outcomes of such unlawful deeds and the dedication to fairness in Prince William County.
