Legislators in North Carolina debated legislation authorizing commercial casinos last year. Even though the Republican-controlled House of Representatives saw a stall in the gaming push, recent polling indicates that the public is eager for the state to have casinos.
Of those surveyed, 24% strongly favored legislation that would enable the state to grant licenses for commercial casinos that are physically located in brick and mortar. An additional 33% expressed some support for the political endeavor.
