North Wales MP summoned by Gambling Commission over bets made concerning election

Following his bet on when the General Election would take place, a Tory candidate for a seat in north and mid Wales is under investigation by the Gambling Commission. He is a close parliamentary aide to the incumbent and is standing as the Conservative candidate in Montgomeryshire and Glyndwr.

As the parliamentary private secretary to the prime minister, the offending individual acknowledged to having wagered some weeks ago on the poll's date.
