Norway gambling authority granted permission to use DNS in blocking illegal gambling sites

The Norwegian Gambling Authority now has the authority to directly order the DNS and IP blocking of websites that violate the Gambling Act of Norway.

On March 19, the parliament approved the mandate because most members supported the regulator's request for market protections against unlicensed operators.

With this approval, Norway's Gambling Act, which is presently being revised, is guaranteed to be protected by the gambling authority's secure DNS and IP blocking rights.
