Numerous people march to demand an end to football's "life-destroying" betting promotion.

This weekend, hundreds of people will walk thousands of miles to demand an end to the promotion of gambling in football after their lives were "destroyed" by online betting.
The Big Step set a cumulative walking goal of 1,137 miles over the course of Saturday and Sunday, which is the distance between every Premier League Championship and Scottish Premiership football club connected to a betting company. However, thanks to four million steps from more than 300 people on the first day, the goal was surpassed.

This weekend, *The Big Step* campaign will see hundreds of people walking over 1,137 miles to protest gambling’s influence in football. Participants chose this distance as it represents the cumulative mileage between all Premier League, Championship, and Scottish Premiership clubs associated with betting sponsors. By Saturday alone, 300 people had already surpassed the target, accumulating four million steps. Many walkers have been directly impacted by gambling, and this initiative aims to raise awareness about the damaging effects of gambling ads in sports.
