Ohio man wins $50,000 lottery prize thanks to German dog license number

Using the numbers from his late German shepherd's license tag, an Ohio man won $50,000 in the Pick 5 lottery and couldn't believe his good fortune.

With his winnings, the man hopes to increase his savings and pay off debts. In the meantime, a different Ohioan is enjoying financial independence following their Powerball win.

The $139.3 million prize was won by an Ohio ticket that matched all six balls, according to the Powerball website. The winner also had the option to accept a $66.5 million lump sum cash payout.
