Ohio senator proposes reduction of sports betting tax to boost industry

The state senator has proposed legislation to drastically lower the state tax levied on sports betting operators in an effort to boost Ohio's sports betting market.

When Ohio's sports betting program launched on January 1st of this year, the initial tax rate on operators was 10%. But in the summer, lawmakers decided to increase the tax rate by doubling it through the state budget; this decision is currently being contested by the senator
