Ohtani's Interpreter Terminated; Charged With Unlawful Gambling And Theft

The Dodgers fired Ippei Mizuhara, Shohei Ohtani's interpreter, due to allegations of theft and illegal gambling.

Mizuhara, a long-time friend and interpreter for Ohtani, allegedly transferred over $4.5MM from Ohtani's account to a gambling ring.

Ohtani's attorney claims Ohtani was a victim of theft, with Mizuhara allegedly responsible. Mizuhara admitted to asking Ohtani to cover his gambling debts but later retracted, stating Ohtani was unaware.

$4.5 million is a lot of money to gamble away, no wonder the team fired the interpreter. I'm sure there will be a big investigation into this. Wonder if the gambling ring will face charges too for taking the stolen money.
