On January 4, 2025, a man was arrested in Puerto Madryn after stealing a pair of sneakers from a store on 25 de Mayo Street. According to Radio 3 Cadena Patagonia, the suspect fled the scene wearing the stolen shoes and attempted to hide inside the city’s casino. Police, alerted by a description of his appearance and clothing, set up a blockade and successfully apprehended him inside the casino without incident. The man was later taken to the police station.
