On Sadiq Khan's request, TfL intends to outlaw gambling advertisements.

Following an intervention from Sadiq Khan, TfL is attempting to outlaw gambling advertisements across its advertising network.
Mr. Khan promised to outlaw such commercials on the Tube during his reelection campaign earlier this year because of the "devastating way gambling addiction can devastate lives and families."
TfL ran 49 gambling-related advertising campaigns across its networks between April and June of this year, which is nearly as many as the 61 campaigns that were run during the entire 2018–19 fiscal year.

Sadiq Khan has prompted Transport for London (TfL) to attempt a ban on gambling advertisements across its network, citing the harmful effects of gambling addiction on individuals and families. This follows his campaign pledge to reduce such ads. Despite this, TfL reported a surge in gambling ads, running 49 campaigns between April and June 2024 alone, almost reaching the total campaigns run in the 2018-19 fiscal year.
