Online gambling companies are urged to compensate customers for pre-licensing losses.

According to a report in the Volkskrant on Monday, some 100 current and former gamblers in the Netherlands are suing internet casinos for money they lost before the country had legalized online gambling.
In the Netherlands, sports betting became legal in October.
According to attorney Benzi Loonstein, many of the individuals involved in the legal dispute were "weak and vulnerable people." Some of them accumulate enormous debts, losing their homes, jobs, and personal connections.
Loonstein claims that although online casinos were operating illegally in the Netherlands, they encouraged his customers to bet by giving them incentives or other benefits.
