Ontario government seeks to freeze $40million worth of sports betting assets

The Ontario government is attempting to keep control of $40 million in cash and other assets that were allegedly taken from a sports betting ring in late 2019. In December 2019, Ontario police carried out a number of search warrants that led to the arrest of over 30 people, the seizure of tangible property such cars, firearms, computers, and tens of millions of dollars in cash, as well as more than 30 arrests. After a two-year investigation by provincial police into an alleged illicit online sports betting ring that was allegedly managed by Hells Angels bikers and a Toronto crime family, law enforcement raids were conducted. Police suspect that 14 online sports betting companies were part of the illicit business. Over a six-year period, the business purportedly generated profits of over $160 million in gross revenue.

I had read how Ontario Police authorities were able to crackdown activities of sports betting platforms running illegal sports gambling in the country. How they were able to made some arrests and forfeited assets totalling the sum of 40$. I pray the court to grant the request of the authorities, seeking to freeze the assets. This freezing would serve as lessons to others.
