Ontario store employees charged in theft of $500,000 lottery ticket

After allegedly stealing a $50,000 winning lottery ticket, two employees of a store in southwest Ontario are being charged with crimes.

Mitchell, which is roughly 60 kilometers north of London, is where the alleged theft occurred.

Charges brought after lottery scratch tickets were tampered with throughout the Greater Toronto Area Police assert that a store employee stole the winning ticket and then claimed the $50,000 cash prize on behalf of a colleague.
