Oregon Governor opposes establishment of tribal casinos

Regarding the two new tribal casinos that have been proposed for the state, Kotek has responded. The nine tribal chiefs and the director of the Oregon Lottery were among the recipients of a letter from Oregon Governor Tina Kotek outlining her position on the proposed tribal casinos. This is in response to the Siletz Tribe's and the Coquille Tribe's initiatives to establish casinos in Salem and Medford, respectively. Despite the fact that the Coquille tribe already owns one casino, it is located in a far-off location, and the one-casino-per-tribe theory is not a legal requirement.
