Outgoing Mississippi Lottery vice president receives 20 years sentence for pilfering

A former vice president of the Mississippi Lottery was given a 20-year prison term after entering a guilty plea to embezzlement of more than $187,000.

An embezzlement plea was entered by a former vice president of the Mississippi Lottery, according to the Office of the State Auditor in Mississippi. In order to guard against embezzlement in the future, the Lottery has since implemented more controls.

The woman worked for the Lottery and was paid for it by insurance.
