Over £157,000 is donated to a neonatal charity by the National Lottery to aid children.
Over £157,000 ($193,000) in National Lottery cash has been given to a newborn charity to help it extend its services and assist mothers and families in recovering from traumatic delivery experiences.
The National Lottery Community Fund has provided cash to Spoons, a nonprofit organization with a location in the Royal Oldham Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, to help expand its neonatal care program throughout Greater Manchester, including the hiring of more Family Support Coordinators.
These Family Support Coordinators will assist families in making a smoother transition from the hospital to home by encouraging vulnerable parents to participate in local support groups and sessions and providing referrals to other services that may be able to help them provide their infants with the best start possible.
