In order to build a 65K-square-foot casino and kennel near Congress Avenue and Cherry Road, Palm Beach Kennel Club intends to invest $20 million. The Paddock, the racetrack's longstanding restaurant, will have space on the casino floor, along with a poker room and off-track betting. 5,200 square feet will be used by the on-site kennel. A real estate development company intends to construct a high-rise, upscale condominium complex on 42 acres of land that the Palm Beach Kennel Club is selling. If the county board approves the structure, it will have mixed-use space and 2,000 residences.
