Palmeiras president calls for punishment of Botafogo owner if accusations are not substantiated

A fellow owner should be banned if he doesn't provide proof of match-fixing in Brazil, the president of Palmeiras told a parliamentary inquiry commission.

In a 5-0 loss to Palmeiras, the owner claimed to have proof that São Paulo players had been bought off. Additionally, the owner of Botafogo claimed to have a recording of a bribed referee.

Strongly disputing the accusations, the Palmeiras president said that if he can't produce enough proof, he ought to be barred from Brazilian football.
