Penn Entertainment lifts guidance for interactive unit

The interactive division of Penn Entertainment, which includes ESPN Bet, is expected to report a lower-than-expected third-quarter loss, the company informed investors.

Although some analysts have recently noted ESPN Bet's momentum, Penn's remarks regarding hold and parlay mix may provide more proof. However, there has also been discussion that the online sports betting app needs to improve its parlay capabilities in order to more effectively compete with sites like DraftKings and FanDuel.
