Pennsylvania Health Committee set to approve smoke-free casino bill

The Pennsylvania House Health Committee is expected to pass legislation Wednesday morning requiring the state’s casino floors to go entirely smoke-free.

The Health Committee is scheduled to vote on the bill when it meets at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday in Harrisburg. The statute would eliminate the casino exemption from the Clean Indoor Air Act, which since the law’s passage, has permitted licensed facilities to designate up to half of their gaming floor for indoor tobacco smoking.

That's interesting! Could you tell me more about this bill and how it might affect casinos in Pennsylvania? I understand that casinos in Pennsylvania currently allow smoking, so this bill would be a significant change. How are people responding to the bill? Are there any casinos that are speaking out against it? I'd be interested to hear more about the potential impact of this bill on the casino industry in Pennsylvania. Do you have any further information on the details of the bill or when it is expected to be approved?
