Phillipine president orders shutdown of Chinese interference in gambling industry

The president of the Philippines issued an order banning widely used online gaming companies that are primarily controlled by Chinese nationals, charging them with engaging in crimes such as financial fraud, human trafficking, torture, kidnappings, and murder. His decision to outlaw the online gambling businesses run by Chinese people, estimated to be over 400 in the Philippines and employing tens of thousands of people from China and Southeast Asia, coincided with a crackdown supported by Beijing.
