Manchester Central Library is set to digitize its collection of reel-to-reel tapes from Piccadilly Radio thanks to a £99k grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
With this grant, the Manchester Digital Music Archive will curate 300 Piccadilly Radio clips and make the archive catalogues accessible to a wider audience.
The funding has been supplemented by the Manchester Libraries Trust and former personnel of Piccadilly Radio by matching the grant amount.
