Can someone tell me the best or most common rule for Player third card based on Player hand total after Dealer stand on soft 17? In my experience and reading strategy guides, I see two common rules :-

1) Hit on total of 5 or less and Stand with totals of 6 or higher.
2) Hit on totals of 6 or less and Stand with 7 or higher.

According to most guides, Rule 2 has a small advantage over Rule 1. What rules do most experienced Pros follow please? All theories and experiences welcome in comments. Thanks in advance!

A third card is not drawn if the player's hand totals 6 or 7, in which case the hand is considered to be strong. No additional cards are dealt if the player's hand totals 8 or 9, which is regarded as a natural win. The round is decided by the player's hand.
