Playtika announces deal with Innplay Labs

Playtika, a company that creates mobile games, revealed today that it will purchase Innplay Labs for up to $300 million. The target might ultimately fetch a price of up to $300 million, with an up-front payment of $80 million being included in the agreement. Innplay is a firm based in Israel, similar to Playtika. It is privately owned. Despite Playtika's continued acquisition spree, news of the Innplay Labs acquisition only became public around three months after rumours that various private equity companies were considering buying the Israeli gaming startup.

Adding another studio could help Playtika make even more popular mobile games. With their resources combined, maybe they can create some really engaging titles that keep people playing for a long time. Acquisitions are a smart business move if they help the company grow. I'll be keeping an eye on what these two bring together.
