PointsBet looking to sell US sports betting business

To investigate the possibility of selling its North American operations, PointsBet reportedly hired investment firm Moelis & Co. This indicates that the company wants to concentrate on its stronger Australian operations. Long-running takeover speculations have been swirling around both PointsBet divisions. However, the operator has had difficulty turning a profit in the pricey and intensely competitive US market. Due to this, its market share in this nation pales in comparison to that of competitors like FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, and Caesars Sportsbook. Consolidation would be a major trend among lesser competitors, like PointsBet, it was commonly believed going into this year because FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM controlled 85% of the US mobile sports betting industry.
