Late last week, Crandell Addington, a well-known poker legend, Poker Hall of Famer, and businessman, passed away. The renowned poker pro, who is credited with helping to establish multiple lucrative businesses and the World Series of Poker, passed away on Sunday at the age of 85.
Addington assisted one of his friends in putting together a competition in the late 1960s that brought together some of the top high rollers and poker players in the nation. In 1969, this tournament rose to fame as the Texas Gamblers Convention, and the following year, it became the much-celebrated tournament.
