Poker player's plan for largest poker room rejected

The opportunity to host Texas' biggest poker room was declined by the Dallas suburb of Farmers Branch. A proposal to legalize card rooms and open the proposed venue was rejected by the city council on Tuesday, 4-1.

An aspiring 47,000-square-foot card room featuring 100 poker tables, a restaurant, and a bar was to be opened by the three-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, but the decision has derailed it.

The facility, according to him, would have brought in an estimated 300,000 visitors annually and employed about 300 people. From Dallas International Airport, it takes 20 minutes to get to Farmers Branch.
