Them generals and poker players ain't so different. They're always calculating the odds, trying to get inside their opponent's head. Reading folks like a book to see if they got strength or just bluff.

Information is ammunition. The more ya know about the other side's position, resources and strategy, the more ya can gain the upper hand. But too much confidence in what ya know can also be a weakness.

Flexibility and adapting to change is key. Conditions shift in the blink of an eye, so ya gotta be willing to pivot from your game plan. Sometimes the direct path don't win - ya gotta slink around the sides to outmaneuver the other guy.

Opportunism over bravery. Winners pick their spots and strike when the timing's right and the costs are low. Courage ain't about ignoring the risks, it's having the guts to take a risk when the payoff outweighs the cost.

In the end, it's less about the strength of your armies or the luck of your draw than the cunning of your strategy. Get inside your enemy's head, turn his perceptions against him and you'll achieve victory on any battlefield. Those lessons apply whether you're playing for chips or fighting for land.
