Team PokerStars' Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot helped himself to one of the biggest scores of his career this week after taking down the $10,300 No-Limit Hold'em Super Tuesday High Roller, part of the PokerStars World Championship Of Online Poker (WCOOP), for a cool $213,228.
Only Parker's $261,489 prize for becoming the $2,100 NLHE 8-Max champion during the 2020 Stadium Series at PokerStars, and his €278,450 ($293,352) payday from a fifth-place finish in the 2022 European Poker Tour (EPT) Prague Main Event are more substantial that what Talbot took home for his WCOOP victory.
The Super Tuesday High Roller attracted 55 unique players, who purchased 24 re-entries between them, making for a $790,000 prize pool. When the dust settled late on September 13, Talbot had all of the chips in play in front of him, which he handed over for a $213,228 prize.
Yuri "theNERDguy" Dzivielevski went into the nine-handed final table as the shortest stack, and was the first finalist heading to the showers. Dzivielevski hit the rail when his jack-ten failed to get there against Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker's king-nine in a battle of the blinds.
Norway's "KayhanMonk" joined Dzivielevski on the sidelines almost an hour later. "DrawindDead" open-shoved on the button, and "KayhanMonk" called off their 20 big blind stack. It was jack-ten for "DrawindDead" but pocket queens for "KayhanMonk." A queen on the flop improved the Norwegian to top set, but "DrawindDead" hit running cards for a queen-high straight.
One hand later, Muehloecker got the last of his stack in with ace-jack versus the dominating ace-queen of "jackbauer252." The latter's queen-kicker played, and the final table was down to six players within the first 50 minutes of play.
