Position in poker refers to the order in which players act in a hand, with the player closest to the dealer acting first and the player farthest from the dealer acting last.

Having a later position in a hand gives a player an advantage because they have more information about the actions of the other players before they have to act.

A player in a later position can use this information to make more informed decisions, and potentially win more pots.

Additionally, players in later positions have more leverage to bluff and exert pressure on their opponents. Overall, having good position in poker can greatly increase a player's chances of winning a hand.

You are absolutely correct. Players who wait ages to reveal their hands by virtue of their table position can take the time to really study and fully ascertain the direction in which the game is heading, to be fair.
