Potential Iowa iGambling bill reintroduced with firm opposition

For the second year in a row, an Iowa iGaming bill has been introduced in the state capital. However, like last year's legislative session, state lawmakers are not planning to allow online slot machines and table games anytime in the near future. Kaufmann's iGaming bill proposes granting the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission the authority to authorize certified casinos to start operating online interactive slots and table games. Just the state's existing casinos would be eligible to perform online gaming. There are currently 19 riverboat and land-based casinos in Iowa. Slot machines, tables, and sportsbooks are permitted on the properties. Iowa also allows online sports betting.
