Any online gambling activity may now be subject to a selective consumption tax imposed by the Peruvian government. As part of her administration's revision of Peru's gambling regulations, the President requested that the Executive Branch receive a conclusion from the National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration of Peru, regarding the gaming taxes. The leader intervened in proceedings in September, requesting that an additional 1% "excise tax" be applied to all online gambling activities, even though Congress had approved the final framework of a bill, which would have imposed a direct 10% tax on gross gaming revenues across online sports and casino wagers.
