A model framework has been introduced by US lawmakers from states where gambling is already legal to help new states that are thinking about legalizing online gambling.
The National Council of Legislators from Gaming States created the proposal, which aims to help states create effective legislation by outlining best practices such as a 15% to 25% tax rate and a ban on credit card deposits.
The plan primarily borrows from effective models already in place, especially the regulatory strategy used in New Jersey, which has been in place since 2013.
