Prospective North Carolina sports betting statute progressing positively

After the state Senate approved legislation that aims to provide online wagering and in-person betting at professional sports facilities, North Carolina now appears set to join the more than 30 other states that have authorized commercial sports betting. Legal sports betting already exists in North Carolina, but it is only available at the state's three land-based tribal casinos. The House must now approve the Senate amendments before sending the North Carolina sports betting measure to the Senate. House approval is anticipated as the measure passed with significant support in late March.
