Report shows US military spent $500,000 on gambling expenses

During the fiscal year 2023, US military personnel improperly spent over $500K at casinos and nightclubs, as well as for drinking and playing online games, using government-issued travel cards.

One service member used the card to gamble for five months, according to the audit. The majority of the money that person received came from the MGM National Harbor Hotel & Casino in Maryland. The service member made 21 withdrawals at National Harbor and another gaming establishment in Maryland, totaling $10,633.
