Research concerning gambling addiction in New Zealand reveals interesting facts

Researchers have uncovered the intricate connections between lifestyle factors and problem gambling in a first-of-its-kind national study with implications for the entire world. The findings were somewhat unexpected.

About 4.5% of Kiwis take their gambling much more seriously than simply purchasing the occasional Lotto ticket, despite the fact that two thirds of the population are thought to gamble occasionally.

In addition to family violence and crime, research has connected gambling addiction to major mental health risks. In fact, one study found that about 10,000 New Zealanders break the law each year due to gambling addiction.
