Responsible gambling advocates stress negative effects of lottery tickets as gifts

This holiday season, proponents of responsible gaming are reminding the public that lottery tickets are inappropriate presents for children and teenagers. For the 2024 holidays, the Gift Responsibly Campaign is being run by the National Council on Problem Gambling in Washington, DC. The seventh-year campaign, which is run in partnership with the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries, attempts to raise awareness of the dangers of lottery ticket purchases by minors who are not yet of legal age to participate.
