Restaurant owner convicted of tax fraud and misuse of funds for gambling

In three fried chicken restaurants that he owned and operated, a federal jury found a restaurant guilty of withholding taxes from the wages of his employees. This information was released by the US Department of Justice in a press release.

His tax evasion scheme appears to have started in prior years when the IRS had already imposed penalties for non-payment of taxes, based on the findings of the investigation conducted by IRS Criminal Investigation.

The man chose to use the money from his businesses for personal expenses, including stoking his addiction to gambling, rather than paying his tax obligations.
