Rivers Casino Portsmouth fined $45,000 for alleged breaches

After suspected violations were discovered by the state's gambling regulator, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, a well-known gaming and entertainment venue in Portsmouth, Virginia, reportedly consented to pay fines exceeding half a million dollars.

Following an investigation into suspected violations of the operator's license conditions, the Virginia Lottery, the state's gambling regulator, levied the fine. Rivers Casino Portsmouth was hit with two settlements totaling $545,000, as reported by The Virginia-Pilot Business.

According to the settlements mentioned above, formal findings regarding the alleged violations have not yet been made. But the settlements were agreed upon in order to avoid a formal hearing.
