Rivers Casino Portsmouth pays $275,000 fine for violating regulations

The Virginia Lottery Board claimed that one of Rivers' infractions was permitting minors entry to the casino floor. Additionally, according to the allegations, Rivers neglected to obtain the correct license for a few slot machines and permitted entry for a self-excluded individual who had signed up for the Lottery Board's Voluntary Exclusion Program.

Casinos frequently notify their state's gaming authorities of their own regulatory violations. Usually, a condition of having a gaming license is self-reporting.
