According to reports, Las Vegas Sands plans to approach the county for tax relief in order to build a $4 billion integrated resort in Uniondale, New York. The county leaders recently endorsed the proposal put forth by the casino business, and the legislature there last week overwhelmingly approved enabling Sands to proceed. Therefore, there is unquestionable political support for the casino hotel, but it depends on how ready politicians are to forgo necessary income.
